Longmont, CO is a municipality in Boulder and Weld counties, just northeast of Boulder. The name comes from the Longs Peak mountain that you can see from Longmont. It was founded in 1871 and developed as an agricultural community. A sleepy town for most of its life, Longmount recently has had a resurgence of energy and now has a vibrant feel to it, thanks to its combination of the new and the old. For instance, you can stop by the Longmont Museum and Cultural Center to learn about the city's history, and then afterwards head over into the Left Hand Brewery to sip some delicious local brews.
